Hyper-V rubber is designed by Nisshin Rubber company in Japan, originally designed for workplaces due to its anti-slip ability on floors covered with water, oil and soap.

As of late, Hyper-V rubber is becoming popular amongst powerlifters to minimise slipping whilst bench pressing and deadlifting (particularly sumo stance)
